As the name of the Company implies, it is the intention to make it principally a settlers' undertaking, and with that view, the Company is to be formed in £1 shares, so that all residents may be able to join, thereby securing to the Company the whole of the river traffic, and consequently, to themselves a remunerative investment. The Directors anticipate that the Shares will be fully subscribed for, and operations.commenced withm six months, and that^not more than 10s. per sharo^will be called up, satisfactory banking arrangements having been made. It is proposed to build a powerful steamer suitable for the requirements of the river, at an estimated cost of £5001 ; also eeveral barges and Goods' Dep&ts. Arrangements have been made for a supply of Coal at Ralph's Mine, at the rate of 10s. per ton, for a term of years. The Waikato Flax Company are willing to run their steamer, now, being built, in connection with the Company, or if desirable, amalgamate the same with it. The Office of the Company is to be in Auckland, with a Manager in Waikato, under the direction of a Local Committee. The Provisional Directors to hold office for Six Months from date, when a General Meeting of Shareholders will be called to elect a Directory.
