Duuedin, Saturday. A flood on the Molyneaux has done incalculable harm to the miners. Mr. Proudfoot obtained the contract for the Awamoko Eailwav. at £7.231. for everything except rails.

Sunday. Tho contract of tho Now South Wales Government with Mr Hall provides that the brtfnch vessels shall he from 800 to 1,000 tons. The penalty in the event of failure to provide a vessel is £300 ; for every day's delay in providing a vessel, £100 ; and delays in voyages, £50 per day The contractor is not to assign or sublet the contract without the permission of the Government, with the exception of tho branch line. The sureties for carrying out the contract are Mr William Cameron and Mr J. B. Dnnn, tobacconists. The Westland Government will introduce a hill for a £50,000 loan to Westland, secured on the land of the country, the colony to p*y interest and sinking fund for ten years. This will clear off all the county's outstanding liabilities.
