Treasury, Wellington, Sth April, 18/3. TENDEES areinvilcd for the purchase of the whole or nny portion ot Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature of tho Colony, entitled •' The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1370," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions : —

1. Tho Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will bo issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which aro secured on the Consolidated Ecvcnueof the Colony, « ill bear interest at the rate of 1 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly on the loth day of April and the 15tli day o> October in each j car, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, : llokitiku, Dunedin, or Invergargill. 3. Tho principal sum will be pa) able on tho 13th day of April, 11)13, at the Treasury aL Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, m New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months' notice being required prc\ ions Lo maturity, of the placo at which payment ■will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth clay of May next, in the piesencc ot such of Ibe tenderers as desire to be present — tho minimum price under seal being first placed on tho table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum m excess ol the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must bo paid at tho Treasury at Wellington, as under :— 5 per cent accompanying application ; * the balance on or bcloretho 16lh May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers : — 5 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, ~\ 25 per cont in two months, ( with accrued 25 per cent in three months, ( interest. 25 per cent in four months. J * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th May, will bo accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into tho Bank of New Zealand, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account.
