Issue of £250,000 New Zealand Govern ment Debentures in New Zealand,

Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS arcinvitcd for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debenture/, issued under the Acts oi the Legislature of the Colony, entitled " The Immigration aud Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: — 1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be i^ued m suing of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which aro secured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony , w ill bear interest at the rate of 1 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on the loth day of April and "the 15th day of October in each jear, at the Bauk of Now Zealand at Auckland, Now Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, llokitika, Dunedin, or Invergargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of Hew Zealand, in New Zealand, at tho option of the holder, six months' notice being required previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at tho Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May ne\t, in the presence of ouch of tho tenderers as desire to be present — the minimum price under seal being fir&t placed on the table. In tho event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess ot the issue, a pro rata distribution will bo made. 5. The amount tendered for must bo paid at tho Treasury at Wellington, as under :—: — 5 per cent accompanying application ; * the balance on or before" the 16Ui May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers : — 5 per cent, on application. 20 per cent in one month, ") 25 per cent in two months, ' with accrued 25 per cent in three months, ( interest. 25 per cent m lour months. J * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the re&peclive Acta, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will bo allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are c fleeted. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on Mio 9th May, will be accepted, provided they arc accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency ol tno Banlc of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of New Zealand, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account.
