Issue of £250,U00 New Zealand Gwern ment Debentures in New Zealand,

Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS arcinvitedfor the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debentures, issued under the Acts ot the Legislature of the Colony, entitled '' The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," und " The Delence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-meutioned couditions : — 1. Tho Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will bo issued m sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds ench. 2. Tho Debentures, which are secured on the Coniolidatcd Revenue of the Colony, w ill bear interest at the rate of I per cent, per annum, payablo half-yearly , on tho 15th day of April and the 15th day ol October iv each year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auclluud, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Grey mouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invergargill. 3. The principal sum w ill be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, sue mouths' notice being required previous to maturity, of the place at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at tho Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desiroto be piesent — the minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In tho event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excels ol the issue, a pro rat a distribution will bo made. 5. Tho amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, as under :-— 5 per cent accompan*jA|py application ; • the balance on or befi^f? ' 16th May, 1873. Half per cent brokerage will be allowod to brokers through whose applications nules are ellected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the Oth May, will bo accepted, prouded they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of tho Bunk of New Zetilaud, notifying that the necc^ary deposit has been paid into the Bank of Now Zealand, to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. Bourrf of £5,000.

For tho production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron, of Marketable quulity. Couditions. 1. The bonus not to be gn en for any quantity leas thun 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonus must be gncn to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 30th June 1875. 1. In tho event of more than one claimant giving sucli notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by tho first producer, and not more than throetenths by tlic second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may chum the whole ol the bonus. 5. The Iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will bo examined by an oflieer to be appointed by the Government who may require the production of bona Jide account sales of quantities not lets than 100 tons \» eight, show ing that such Iron has been sold at a fuir market price as Pig Iron.

STEEL, Bonus ot £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 tons weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic or Titauifcrous Iron Sand or Iron Oro. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given to the Colonial Secretary of the intention to chum this bonus before tho 30th June, 1873. 2. The claim for payment of the bonus must bo made before 30th June, 1874. 3. The bonus will bo paid to the producer who effects the first bona fide sale of the abovo quantity of Steel at a fair market price.

SUGAR.

Bonus of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from .Beetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notice of tho intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary belore 31st December, 1873. 2. ClaimH for payment of Uic bonus to be sent in before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus w ill be paid to the producer who first effects a bona fide sale of the amount of Sugar specified.

PAPER. Uonub oi? £2,500.

For tho production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured in New Zealand by Machinery .

Condition!.

1. Notico of the intention to claim this bonus must be gn en to thi> Colonial Secretary before 31st Jamuiry, 1873. 2 The Paper must be made by machinery, permanently establinhed and working m the Colony. 3. Claims for payment of the bonus must be sent in bofore 31st December, 1871. 4. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the first bona fide wale of the amount of Printing Paper bpecificd.

FISH. Bonus of In. ri:n Cw r. This bontiß will be be puid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled exported from the colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus will be paid to the producer on the production ol account gales show ing that the Fidli lias been sold out of the v Colony for liur market value. 2. llie exporter to enter into a boud not to rcland u\ the Colony any luuh on which a bonu» has been paid 3. Tlic bonus may bo claimed on all Fish exported be twecn Ist November, 1872, and Ist Nuvomber, 1870 , ntul is to be paid out of ull moueys appropriatod lor that purpose.
