TENDERS arcimitcd for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Filty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Cro\ eminent Debentures, issued under the Acts of the Legislature ot the (Jolony, entitled " The Immigration and Public Works L >an Act, 1870," and " The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: — 1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be issued in sums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated .Revenue of the Colony, w ill bear interest ut the rate of 1 per cent per annum, payable half-yearly, on the loth day of April mid the loth daj oi October in eacli year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christcliureh, Grej mouth, Uokitika, Duucdin, or Invergargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th daj of April, I'JI.J, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Hank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option oi the holder, *i\ months' notice being required pre\ ions to maturity, of the placo at which payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on irula\, the ninth day of May ne\t, in the presence of s,uch of the tenderers as desire to be present — the minimum price under seal being iirat placed ou the table, la the event of equal tenders being received for a sum m excess ol the issue, a j)ro rata distribution w ill be inaUe. 5. The amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, us uuder :—: — 3 per cent accompanying application ; fc the balance on or before the 16th May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers : — 3 per cent on application. 2'J per cent in one month, ~\ 25 per cent in two months, f w ith accrued 25 per cent in three months, I interest. 25 per cent in four months. ) * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to inteicst from the 13th da} of April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers thr ough whoso applications sales aie eilected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th Maj, will be accepted, prowded they are accompanied by a telegram fiom the Manager of any Branch or Agency of tne Bank of New Zealand, notifying that the ueccisary deposit has been paid into the Bank of New Zea1 and, to the credit of a, Loau Deposit Account. IN compliance with n lie^olution of the House of Ilcpresentatneo, passed on 22ml October, 1872, a Bonus is hereby ottered for the encouragement of certain Colonial Industries, nainelj :—: — IRON, lioxus OF £3,000. For the production m New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of l'ig Iron, of Marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonus not to bo given for any quantity less thau 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonus must be gneu to the Colonial Sccretaiy befoie the 31st December, 187 «J. 3. The bonus muat be claimed before the 30th June 1875. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than se> en-tenths ol the bonus may be claimed bj tho iin>t pioducer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim the whole oi the bonus. 3. The Iron m respect of which any bonus is claimed will be examined by an ollieer to be appointed b_\ the Government who may require the production of bona Jlde account &<ilcb of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at a fair market price as l J ig Iron.
STEEL. UoMJS OF £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 tons weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic or Titanilerous Iron Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given to tlic Colonial Si'cri'lary of the intention to claim tins bonus before the 30th J une, 1873. 2. Tho claim for payment of the bonus must be made before aoth June, 187-4. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effecta the first bona fide Halo of tlio abo^e quantity of Steel at a fair market price.
SUGAR. Bo>Ts of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from 13cetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary belore 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims lor payment of the bonus to be sent in before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who first effects a bonn Jhle sale of the amount of Sugar specified.
PAPER. Bo>*rs or £2,500. For the production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured in New Zealand by Machinery. Conditions. 1. Xotico of the intention to claim tlm bouus must bo gi\en to the Colonial Secretary before 3Kt January, 1873. 2. The Paper must be made by machinery , permanently , established and working in the Colony. 3. Claims for payment of the bouiu must be sent in before 31st December, 1871. 4. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the first lonajide sale of the amount of l'riuting Paper specified.

The bonus will bo paid to tbo producer on the production of account bales showing that the .Fish haa been sold out of the Colony for fair market \uluo. 2. The exporter to cntor into a bond not to rclund in the Colony any l ( 'iah on which a bonus haj been paid. 3. The bonus may bo claimed on nil Fish exported be twecn Ist No; ember, 1872, and Ist November, 1871)., and is to be paid out of all inoiieya appropriated for that purpose.
