Issue of £250,000 New Zealand Govern msnt Debentures in New Zealand, Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS areinvitod for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Di'be'titure's issued under the Acts of the Legislature of the Colom , entitled •' The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1870," and " The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," biibject to the under-mentioned conditions :—: —

1. The Debentures will be payable to Bearer and will be issued 111 sums ol not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures, which arc bccured on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony , will bear interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, on tho loth day of April and the 15th day ot October in each year, at the Bank oi New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Gre} mouth, llokitika, Dunedin, or luvergargdl. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th da> of April, 1013, at the Traisury at Wellington, or J at any branch ot the Bank of New Zealand, 111 New Zealand, at the option ol the holder, six months' notice being required previous to maturit}, of the place at winch payment will be required. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Fridaj , the ninth day of May ue\t, in the presence ot such ot the tenderers as desire to be present — the minimum price under seal being lirst placed on the table. In the event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess ol the issue, a pro rala distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington, as under :—: — 5 per cent accompam ing application ;#; # the 1 bulance on or belore the 16th May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers :—: — 3 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, ") 23 per cent in tw 0 months, f with accrued 25 per cent in three months, t interest. 25 per cent 111 lour months. J * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 13th da} oi April. On payment of the final instalment, Debentures signed by the Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be dejiveied to pui chasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers thr ough whose applications sales are e fleeted. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the Uth Ma} , will bo accepted, pro\ ided they are accompanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of ttio Bank, of New Zealand, notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Hank of New Zcaiund, to the credit of a Loau Deposit Account. IN compliance with a Resolution ol the House of Representatives, passed on 22nd October, 1872, a Bonus is hereby olleied for the encouragement ot eevtam Colonial Industries, namely :—: — IRON. Uonus or £3,000. For the production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight ol Pig Iron, oi Marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonus not to be grten for any quantity less than 100 ton*. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 30th Juno 1875. d. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than se\ en-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by the fir»t producer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if onl^ one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim the whole ol the bonus. 5. The Irou in respect of winch any bonus is claimed will be examined by an ollicer to be appointed bv the Government who may require the production of bona Jide account sides of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at a fair market price as Pig Iron.

STEEL. BOMJB of £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 tons weight of marketable Steel fiom Magnetic or Titanifcrous Irou Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given ,fco the Colonial Secretary of the intention to claim this bonus before the 30th June, 1873. 2. The claim for payment of the bonus must be made before 30th June, 1871. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects the first bona fide sale of the above quantity of Steel at a fair market price. SUGAR. Bonus of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from .Beetroot 111 New Zealand. Condition. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary belore 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of the bonus to be aent in belore aOLh June, 1875. 3. The bonus w. ill be paid to the producer who first effects a bona Jide sale of the amount of Sugar specified. PAPER, lioxi'ii of £2,300. For the production of 100 tons of Printing Paper, manufactured 111 New Zealand by Machinery. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bouus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before 31bt January, 1873. 2. The Paper must be made by machinery, permanently established and working 111 the Colony. 3. Claims for paj ment of the bonus must bo sent in before 31st December, 1871. 4. The bonus will bo paid to the producer who effects tho first bona fide wile of the amount of Printing Paper specified. FISH. Boms ov Is. jm.h Cwr. This bonui will be be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pkklcd exported from the colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus will bo paid to the producer on tho production of account sales showing that the Fish has been sold out of the Colony lor fair market \u\\ie. 2. The exporter to enter into 11 bond not to reland in the Colon} uny Fish on which a bonus has been paid. 3.
