Issue of. £250,000 New Zealand Govern ment Debentures in New Zealand, Treasury, Wellington, Bth April, 1873. TENDERS arcinvited for the purchase of tho whola or any portion of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Govern ment Debentures, issued under tho Acts of the Legislature of the Colony , entitled " The Immigration and Public Works L>an Act, 1870," and "The Defence and Other Purposes Loan Act, 1870," subject to the under-meutionod conditions. — 1. The Debentures will be pay able to Bearer and will be issued m sums of not less than One Huudied Pounds each. 2. Tlw Debentures, which are secured on the Consolidated Revenueof the Colony, will bear interest at the rato of 4 per cent, per annum, payablo half-yearly, on tho 15th day of April and the 15th day of October in each year, at the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invergargill. 3. The principal sum will be payable on the 15th day of April, 1913, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, six months' notice being required previous to maturity, of tho place at which payment will be required. 1. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington at noon on Friday, the ninth day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desire to be present — tho minimum prioe under seal being first placed on tho table. In the event of equal tender! being received for a sum in excess ot the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered for must bo paid at the Treasury at Wellington, as under — 5 per cent aceompanj ing application ; * the balance on or before the 16th May, 1873. Or at the option of the purchasers: — 5 per cent on application. 20 per cent in one month, ~\ 25 per cent in two months, f with accrued 25 per cent in three months C interest. 25 per cent in four months. ) * Purchasers electing to pay balance within a week will be entitled to interest from the 15th day of April. On payment of tho final instalment, Debentures bigncd by tho Agents appointed under the respective Acts, will be delivered to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage v\ ill be allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock on the 9th May, will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by a telegram from tho Manager of any Branch or Agency of tho Bank of New Zealand, notify ing that the necessary deposit has been paid into tho Bank of New Zealand, to "the credit of a Loan Deposit Account.
