THE AUCKLAND COLLEGE.

TnE Rev William Taylor, Principal.

THESE premises were re-opened in October last. The College is pleasantly situated, oierlooking the city and harbour. Tho grounds, comprising about five acres, afford space for gymnastic and other recreations. There is ample accommodation for Fifty Boarders, with Class Rooms, Dormitories, Bath Room, &c. No school in the province affords equal facilities for combining an educational with a boarding establishment, and it is with the view of providing a First-class Boarding School, at a moderate cost, to which our country residents may send their children with confidence, where healthy recreation and home comforts w ill be combined w ith moral training and mental development, that the College has been re-opened. While no denominational clement will be introduced, the Principal feels strongly that moral culture based on God's Woed is the only safe course to take in the education of the young. But this will be carried out with the utmost liberality. Boarders may attend any school or place of v> orsliip at the option of parents. The domestic arrangements of the College are under the personal superintendence of Mrs. Taylor. The young Ladies' Department is under the charge of Miss Taylor. In addition to the usual branches of instruction in ladies schools, French, German, Drawing, Music, and Fancy Needlewoik will be taught. The course of instruction in the High Department of the College will embrace all that is requisite for the Legal Profession, the Civil Service, Commcicial Pursuits, and the University Examinations. The Principal has devoted the greater part of his life to tuition ; and, having lived some years in Auckland, he is known to the leading men of the City. Terms : Payable in Advance. Boarders, from £10 10s per Quaiter, according to age Laundiy Fee, 10s Gd „ or 7s per Month High School, £1 10s Gd „ or 10s Gd „ Extras: French, German, and Music. Pupils can enter at any tune. Books charged for. N.B — The College will Re-open for 1873 on Monday, January 13th. Training School for Teachers. The Principal will be glad to receive into the College persons desirous of being trained as Teachers and of obtaining certificates under the Education Act, 1872. The Rev. W. Taylor having leased the Wesley College property, I have much pleasure, as Chairman of the Trustees, in stating my belief -.that the education tibe given under Mr. Taylors superintendence will be strictly undenominational in its chaiacter, and would, thcrefoic, recommend the College to the body of Wesleyaus in this province.
