IN compliance with the recommendation contained in the Report of the Joint Committee on Colonial Industries, 1872, to the elFeet that a bonus ot £2,500 should be offered for tho first 100 tons of Printing Paper produced by Machinery, snch bouus to be m addition to any that may be offered by any Province, it is hereby notified that such reward will be paid on the fulfilment of the iollowmg CoNun ions. The Paper to be manufactured in New Zealand bj machinery permanently established and working in the Colony. Tho required quantity to be competed before the 30th June, 187 i The reward will he paid on the certificate of an officer to be appointed by the Government that the above conditions have bten complied with.

Bonus of £5,000. For the production m New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron, of Marketable quality. Conditions. 1. Tho bonus not to be given, for any quantify less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Worm and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed beforo tho 30th June 1875. 4 In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by the first producer, and not more than threetenths by the second producer ; but if only oue claimant becomes a producer on the above condition*, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 5. The Iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will be examined by an ofliccr to be appointed by the Government who may require the production of bona fide account sales of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such Iron has been sold at a fair market price as Pig Iron. STEEL. Bonus of £1,000. For the production in New Zealand of 100 toiu weight of marketable Steel from Magnetic or Titaniferous Iron Sand or Iron Ore. Conditions. 1. Notice must be given to tho Colonial Secretary of the intention to claim this bonus bofore the 30th June, 1873. 2. The claim for payment of the bonus must be made before 30th June, 187' A. 3. Tho bonu. will be paid to tho producer who effects tho first bona jide sale of the above quantity of Steel at a fair market price. ffUGAR. Bok/s of £2,000. For the production of 250 tons of Sugar manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. 1. Notice of -the intention to claim this bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before 31st December, 1873. 2. Claims for payment of the bonus to be bent in before 30th June, 1875. , 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who first offeets a bona fide Bale of the amount of Sugar upecilicd. PAPER. j Boxes or £2,500. For the production of 100 tons of Printing P.iper, maim- j facturcd in New Zealand by Machinery. Conditions. 1. Notice of the intention to claim this bouus must be given to the Colonial Secretary bofore 31st January, 1873. 2. The Paper must be made by machinery, permanently established and working in the Colony. 3. Claims for payment of tho bonus must be sent in before 31st December, 1874- ■ l. The bouus will be paid to the producer who effects the firbt bona fide «aloof the amount of Printing Paper specified. FISH. Bosus or 4s. pku Cwt. This bonus will be be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled, exported from tho colony for consumption abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus will bo paid to the producer on the production of account sales showing that the Fish has been sold out of tho Colony tor fair market value. 2 The exporter to enter into a bond not to reland in the Colony any Fulloon which a bonus has been paid. 3. The bomw*feiay bo claimed on all Fish exported bo l tween Ist November, 1872, aud Ist Novomber, 1871)., and is to be paid out of 4t juoncys for that purpose.
