The rumour is unfounded that the Government are going to increase the hours of the civil servants, but they will eliminate incapables and supernumeraries, and increase the pay inducements to good servants. Colonel Harrington will receive half-pay to the end of year, and his appointment will then cease. The Armed Constabulary ofKcers, when available, will take charge of the drill and musketry instruction, and when not available, the duty will be discharged by Militia and Volunteer officers. Tuesday.
