We do- not necessarily endorse the opinions expressed by our correspondents. J ( To the Editwof the Waikato Times.) Sir,. —In your' paper of the. 2ofch inst. there appears a letter from Mr ftunciroan on the subject of the road now being made from. East Hamilton to Tauplri. of.which; he gives » very iair description, with the-exception of its length, which he assumes to-be about) Wen'ty.-fwe miles.: [ I presume it was the tirst time he had gone over it, aad the very bad weather we have had. lately would make any road (but-particularly a'strarigo one)-'look longer than it really wr.s : which wouhl appear to .be the ense in the present instance,, as the-measure-1 length of the ■surveyed line of road is under -seventeen-md-a-half : miles between the two-points named. Air. Kunciinan's concluding remarks as to the tendency of .Road Boards < to ignore the of their predecessors, is very much.to the point,, though the Kirikiriroa r-aterjayers at their recent animal ineetiug were careful to elect Ti-ustees who were known to be favorable to; finishing the one road before begiuDing another.—lam, &c, 29th July, 1572.
