Co. not having a, regular place of call at Ngaruawahia for their steamers to land andreceive cargo and passengers. Under the present arrangement there are no less than three different places within three hundred yards of each other ; used at uncertain intervals, and it is at times quite j amusing to watch passengers and shippers of goods j dodging from one place to the other. A good wharf ■ centrally situated has been offered to this company , and the public free of charge. A pctiton was sent j to Mr. Hunt, the manager of the Company, signed by all their customers (except three) in the township '•ecjuestine him to make this wharf the regular place ; of call for the steamers. Why has this not been , done for the convenience of the public and the receivers and shippers of goods. I trust that the ; directors ot this company will take the matter into : their consideration at the next meeting and settle • Mt-iiii one re-nilar place of call. —I • Transit. ; July ii
