We hear that Mr. H. Alley purpo*es to send to Auckland a mob of cattle overland, via Taupo and "Waikato. This -will make the third mob that has been driven from Napier through the interior of the country, Messrs. Hunter, of Porangahau, having first (many years ago) proved 'he practicality of the route We trust that the venture will prove successful. Ihe Waikato district is rapidly becoming a grazing and fattening country, and will in a few years prove a formidable rival to Hawke's Bay for the supply of the Thames and Auckland live stock markets. Considering that no exertions are being spared to iucrease the facilities for the conveyance of stock from the Waikato to Auckland, our graziers may yet find in the former district an excellent market for stores. —"Napier Telegraph."
