Mrs J. W. Martin presided at the 'monthly me ting of the Soldiers' Comforts Committee held in the Counc'l Chambers on Tuesday evening, and those present Ave re Mesdaims A. Castle, J. Harvey, A. Provan, S. Helm, D. M. Tweedie, S. A. Odell, Mi iS Borland, and the secretary, Missi V. Cassels. . A letter of thanks for th© parcel -pf comforts AVas received from D. A. MacDougall; also one from H. Witsey for the parcel sent to him after the evacuation from Crete. Donations received during the month included an anonymous donation ;-of £3, £5 from the syndicate which took up "Disgusted's" challenge, 10/- from Mrs Eccleton., and 8/- from Mr Parker. " ;
