Cheers for the Riverton men’s team 4 which combined fairly well. In the final of the women’s • event, Waipango defeated Riverton “Has Beens” after a very exciting and ' closely contested match, in which the winning goal was scored almost on time. . 1 EVENING TOURNAMENT. An enjoyable tournamentCjjppk place last Friday evening in the Empire Theatre. Eight women’s and nine men’s teams competed in an evening basketball tournament held by the Riverton Basketball Club. Final: Waipango 7 v. “Has Beens” 6. - Consolation event: Spar Bush 8 v. Wrights Bush 5; Colac Bay 8 v. Otautau 4. Final: Colac Bay,6 v. Spar Bush 2. ■ < MEN’S COMPETITION First round: Riverton ll v.
