BASKETBALL
SUB-ASSOOIATION TOURNAMENT. Although unfavourable weather prevailed on Friday evening the tournament held in McNaughton's garage by the Riverton District Basketball SubAssociation was an overwhelming success. In the ladies' section the most interesting game of the evening was between Fairfax A and Riverton A. The Riverton B team played good basketball right throughout the evening until Oliai A defeated them in the final In the men's section Ohai again took the honours by defeating the Riverton A team by one goal to nil. During the tournament and afterwards the Sub-Association held a dance, in Fleck's Hall which was very successful], there being about 150 couples present, the Syncopators Orchestra supplying the music. The ladies' handicaps • were as follows scr, Riverton A 1, Ohai A 2, Waipango 2, Fairfax A 3, Otautau" 3, Waimatuku 3, Riverton B 4, Fairfax B 4, Riverton C 4, High .School 4, Ohai B 5 and Colac Bay 6.
