MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE. MR A. D. McIVOR AS STARTER. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Riverton Racing Club was attended by Mr D. M. Tweedie (chairman), Messrs H. J. Riddle, C. T. Edie, R Fleck, D. F. MacDougall, J. A. Martin, J. W. Ronald, E. A. Trail, R. J. Walker, G. E. Wohlers, E, B. Patrick. The following'programme was decided upon : FIRST DAY. £ Orepuki Novice Stakes 125 Waiau Steeple 150 Aparima Handicap 225 Longwood Handicap 150 Riverton Cup 500 Great Western Steeple 450 Visitors’ Handicap 150 Pourakino Handicap 200 Total £1950 SECOND DAY. Trial Handicap 125 Otaitai Steeple ’ 150 Flying .Handicap 200 Champion Hack 350 Easter Handicap 350 Riverton Steeple 250 Wallace Handicap 150 Monowai Handicap 175 Total £1750 THIRD DAY. _.J President’s Handicap 125 " Wakatipu Trot 130 Fiord Handicap 200 Fairfax Handicap 125 I Autumn Steeple 150 '" s Ohai Trot 140 ' Waipango Handicap 125 Farewell Handicap 150 Total £H4S Champion Hack, altered conditions were made as follows : £350 first horse, second £7O, third £35 from the stake. In addition starters to pay a sweepstake of £3 each, which shall go to- the first horse; for hacks other than maidens at the time of starting the race. It was revolved to adopt the win and place system of betting at the race meeting. The following officials were appointed; Hnndieapper, Mr C E. Hassall; starter. Mr A. D Mdvor; judge. Mr H. B. I{’eland. At the request of the president of the Riverton Racing Club, Mr A. D. Mdvor consented to act as starter at the annual Easter meeting.
