In the course of sluicing- operations, they have, come upon a quartz drift seam carrying within it a. narrow lead which i s yielding coarse rough gold. Mixed with this are large pieces, some, of which are too big to enter tho mouth ot an aspirin bottle.
Although only about six ounces of gold have been recovered from this lead which has just been discovered tho •significance of tho find lies in its poten tial.tios a s it is known that this seam of quartz drift extends for main- miles through the district,
