RIVERTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL. On Friday evening a visitors' social was given by the local Bible Classes. Visitors were present from Waianiwa, Waimatuku, Thorn-bury, Isla Baidc, Otautau, Orepuki and Poukino There was a very large attendance, the hall being rather small for the number present. Games and competitions were held, and a most enjoyable evening! resulted Musical items were rendered by the following .- Pianoforte Soto—Miss Bathnia Tremhath; Highland DanceMiss Nalda Walker; Solo—Miss Marian Smith; Recitations—Miss Margaret Hogg. The aceompanistes fo r the evening were Misses P. Playfair and D. Blackmore.
During the supper interval Mr Macfarlane welcomed the visiting Classes, and-Mr C. Nicholas, Waimatuku (president of the Western District Bible Class Union) replied on behalf of the visitors. Occasion was als 0 taken to congratulate the president, Mr Nicholas on His birthday, Miss TJ. Borland, on behalf of all present, making him a presentation.
Altogether the social proved a very successful one, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all present.
