RUGBY, August 16,

Lieutenant Simon Barrett, of H.M.S Vindictive, was dismissed from his ship and severely reprimanded by a court-martial ,at Chatham as the result of the explosion in the Vindictive at Chatham on July 23 by which an en-gine-room artificer was fatally injured and two stokers were hurt. He was found guilty of neglect of duty in allowing a fuse bomb to he supplied and sectioned without properly ascertaining whether it was safe or dangerous to he cut up.
