EAT WHAT YOU LIKE
It is pleasant to find a. high official of the British Medical Association saying that it is good for a man to eat and drink what he likes. We have all been told many times what we ought to eat and drink; but the advice from different quarters differs so greatly that it is hard to believe that any of it is inspired. There is a very old and. a very time saying that what is one man’s meat is another man’s poison, and there is probably no diet which is equally suitable to all men. Experience tells us what suits us better t-lmn any hard and fast rules laid down by the most learned dietitians. Some years ago a docto.r made this sago remark: ‘When a man feels he is better.’ If we eat and drink the things that make us feel better we shall not be far wrong. Some of us may indulge in things which we like, but which we know does not like us. That is foolish, no doubt, but if the eater things the game worth the candle, lie is, after all, the best judge.
