APARIMA v. RIVERTON. The return match between the" above clubs was played on the south green on Wednesday evening. The green was in fine order and a most .interesting. game resulted. The visitors put up a splendid fight, evidently finding the ': green to their liking, notwithstanding, that several new players had to he included, , Mr Patrick complimented the Apa-“ x ima men on, their good showing ana' remarked on the friendly spirit that prevailed amongst the bowlers. - Mr Martin . congratulated' the Riv- ' erton club on their win and the, pleasure it gave his members to . come over .: (to the green. H© would take . that opportunity tb mention the ■ unique position of the- Riverton club held; in bowling circles in possessing the Senior and Junior Stars, the Murihiku Cup and! the Southland Shield. It was , a splendid! record and one any bowling club and the town should be proud of. He agreed with Mr Patrick, that now the match 'fixtures between .these clubs were over, lie would like to see several friendly matches "played'.
