RIVERTON METHODIST CHURCH.
On Sunday, December 18th, the closing service of the yea*' was held. The Rev. Mr Prosser gave an. address to th 0 scholars and others present. After the address, awards and gifts were given to each and all, the same being presented by Mrs Prosser. Mrs Prosser also presented the certificates gained by the scholars of the school at the usual yearly exam in connection with the Methodist Church of New Zealand. O'f the seven who sat for examination, each were successful ■in gaming the certificates, the names being as follows Leslie McKay 52, Annie’ Eraser 61, Marjorie McKinnon 61, Phyllis King 64,' Margaret McKay 68, Molly) King 74, Margaret Hancock 85 marks. 50 marks were necessary to gain a certificate. Mr Brandford, teacher of the Young Men’s Bible class, on behalf of the members, handed. Master C. de Clifford) a as he will be leaving Riverton shortly.
After thanks to Mr and Mrs Prosser ■ the Superintendent, Mr W. Ashley, wished Xmas Greetings to all present and a happy gathering closed by the Rev. Mr Prosser pronouncing the Benedietion..
