TERRIBLE TRAGEDY
WHOLE FAMILY DROWNED SYDNEY, May 6. • A shocking tragedy occurred ‘.it Backom, Avherei Robertt Parker his wife and two children aged 9 and 11 years, were found, drowned. The. Temcra. police state that the circumstances attending) the drowning almost suggests a suicide pact. All four were fully dressed. They were recent arrivals in the district. Later. Tho Parkers had been farming in the district for a number of years. When an employee left the house this morning- everything! v, r a,s appar-. eiit-ly in order. AVhen. he returned to tlio. house for lunch he found a note which stated : “You will- find usi all in.the dam. May God forgive us. AA r e cannot stand, the strain any longer. ” There. AvasMii cheque for wages: inclosed.
The employee hastened to ilie dam and saw three bodies floating. The- polcie recovered the fourth. Mrs Parker had' been in ill health for some time.
