RIVERTON ATHLETIC SOCIETY.

Oil Wednesday, 13th inst., the above Society will .hold its anmutl gathering, when it is confidently expected that Rivertouians will assemble in large numbers to support those who in the realm of sport are trying to keep Riverton on the map. j ' . A very ambitious programme " has been arranged, and as competitors in bushcraft, running events, in dancing and in piping are coining, patrons are assured of a most interesting day’s outing. These important gatherings cannot be run without money’, and, in older to cope with' this important side of the matter, the Committee confidently expects that' all citizens will inake a cordial response to the canvassers f Ol membership tickets, a,On Saturday next, 9th inst., a Paddy’s Market 'will he held in Mr Fahey’s sample rooms, and Rivertonians are asked-to do their week-end household buying ‘from the Committee’s stalls. . Any donations of cakes, sweets, fruit, vegetables, etc., will be thankfully received at. the rooms ou .Saturday morning. Riverfonians .support your 'own activities! - j -

The date of closing for. entries for the Sports has been extended to Friday next, ‘Bth inst. There are good entries in the bushcraft events so 1 far, and some others are expected. The Committee met last evening, but owing to . the small attendance the meeting was adjourned until Thursday. The President, urgently requests members to\ attend.’
