’TIME FOR REVISION.
RECESS INQUIRY PROPOSED
WELLINGTON, February 1
Early this 'session the _ Premier agreed to net up a Parliamentary committee to consider whether or not amendments should he made in the present licensing law. To-day Mr F. F. Horkley, chairman of the committee, brought down the ’following report, which was ordered to lie on° the table of the House for consideration of" the Government: - That in the opinion of , this committee the time has arrived when the licensing laws should, be revised, ana with this end in view it is recommended that 'leave be granted the Licensing Committee to sit during the recess as a recess committee to enable .it to bear evidence and bring down such amendments as, in Us opinion should be made in the Licensing \ctsc The committee recommends that such proposed amendments to the Licensing Acts', be submitted tothe Crown law draftsman for embodiment in ,an amending Bill to be introduced next session fo'r the consideration of thb Licensing Committee.
