INQUEST.
An inquest touching the death of Robert Gore Camell, widower, 71 years of age, who died at the Hospital on 12th June, was held before Mr G. Cruickshank, S.M., Coroner, today. Constable Woods conducted the enquiry.
Evidence wan given, by Thos. Hinton and Jas. Laurie, who saw deceased the previous evening between 4.30 and 5 o’clock walking in the direction of Colac from Tihaka, and Geo. Arnold', who discovered him the following morning adjacent to the railway line. Ninian G. Trotter, medical practitioner, identified the body of deceased. He had known him for two or three years. On 6th June he consulted 1 , him in regard to his eyesight. He was almost blind, Btone deaf, and was in feeble health. On the following day he was brought into the hospital in a semi-conscious Btate, with a long wound in the back of his head. Two or three ribs were fractured and air was issuing from the lung, showing that the ribs .had pierced the lung. He developed pneumonia and died on the 12th June. . A verdict was returned that deceased died of pneumonia, brought about by exposure and injuries received!.
