Four charges of failing to send his child to school were preferred against William Corbin, who gave as an excuse that his wffe had been in bad health. —He rvas convicted and fined 4s on the first charge and 2s on each of the others. He was also ordered to pay costs, 19s. For exposing lice-iufected sheep for sale in a public saleyard, William Fryer was fined £1 with costs 7s; Thomas Robson, similarly charged, was fined 10s with costs 7s.
In a judgment summons case J. A. Adamson v. H. J. Wilde, for £27 16s, the. debtor stated that he had a family of eight to keep and was only earning from £3 to £3 10s per week. Lately he had been running, a picture show, but it had not given, him any return. No order waif made.
Judgment by default was given for plaintiffs in the following undefended civil oases: —G. O. Kerse v. E. Clark for 4s 6d, without costs; G. E. Charlton v. R. Mike, for £lo' Is 2d, with costs £2 9s.
In a defended case, G. O. Kerse v. A. E. Geddes, in which the plaintiff claimed £3 10s as the balance for car hire to the Clifdeu races the Magistrate gave judgment for 30s, with costs 8s 6d.
