' ■ , The Dunedin Star Wellington correspondent states: In legal circles it has been intimated that Sir Robert Stout intends to resign the Chief Justiceship at the end of the year, and that it is on the cards that he will next year pay an extended visit to the United States. Speaking at the unveiling of the Woodlands memorial on Wednesday, Mr M. Thompson said that the Southland War Funds Association still had about £50,000 for the relief of soldiers, and no reasonable request for help was refused by that body.
