Lionel Walsh, the capable actor and producer, who helped ' to. give us “ Within the Law/' has been engaged to produce “Peg o’ My Heart,” J. and N. Tait’si production that will visit Riverton on Saturday night next. His work is its own recommendation, and that “ Peg o’ My Heart ” will be well put on is assured. Sir James Allen’s announcement that the December draft of recruits will be dropped means probably that not more than 500 or COO additional Second Division men will receive orders to mobilise this year (says the ‘ Dominion’). The July draft entered camp about two weeks ago. The August and September drafts are full, each containing nearly 1400 men. . The October draft is closed so far as Second Division men not yet medically examined arc concerned, since there is not time enought now for 12 weeks’ leave before the October 'mobilisation dates. Seme married; men who) bare been medically examined, but not yet posted may be available for this draft. Second Division men who are examined and passed fit before August 13-17 (according to. their districts) will be available for the November draft. But this draft is to bo based on the reduced reinforcement quota, and it will include a proportion of First Division mem, comprising 19-year-old and; 20-year-old youths and men transferred from the Cl Camp. Probably most of the Class 0 men drawn in the last ballot can bo examined before the middle of next month. The fit men among them, will then be available for the November draft, but it is fairly clear that they will not all be required) then. The October draft; is to mobilise in the period October 8-12, and the November draft in the period November 5-9.
