WEDDING BELLS.
A pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, 10th October, 1917, Uio contracting parties being Miss Eileen Lilian Beer, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs H, S. Beer, South Riverton and Private Colin, Henry MaoDougall (an Anzao), second sou of Mr D. MacDougall, Bluff. The ceremony was performed at the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. C. A. Gray, M.A., officiating. Miss M'. Robertson played tin? wedding march. The bride, who was given away by* her father, looked charming in her gown of white sulk trimmed with seed pearls and soft lace. She' wore the usual tulle veil formed into a niobcap, surrounded by a wreath of orange blossoms and carried a beautiful bunch of arum lilies. The two bridesmaids were sisters of the bride. Miss Boer wore a cream dress with a white hat trimimed with mauve. Miss \ o llio Beer wore a cream coat-dress with a. soft pink bat. The two little Mower - girls, Miss Florence Ha so lino re, neice of the Bride, and Miss Mona. Basstian, were tastefully dressed, the former wearing a dainty white sill,- dress u ud yellow sash with a. lace hat, while the latter wore a white embroidered voile, blue sash and a blue hat. The bridesmaids carried bouquets; Pie. P. MacDougall (Anzac) was best, man and Pte. Percy Blomfield (returned soldier) groomsman.
After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to the Kai Ora Tea Booms where a sumptuous breakfast, was served. The bride’s, travelling dress was a blue serge costume and a pink and grey straw hat. Mid showers of rice and confetti the happy couple left for Queenstown, where the honeymoon was spent.
