MAXIMUM PRICES FIXED

WELLINGTON, Sept. 22,

The Premier has received from the High Commissioner the following cable:—The hemp controller now advises that it is. proposed to fix the maximum price of No. 2 hemp £1 per ton higher than the figures- before mentioned. Tow: Fixed price for No. 1, £59 per ton; No. 2, £56.

Levin and Co. have received a cable to the effect that the Imperial Government has fixed maximum prices for hemp in London at £B4 for goodfair; £B2 for high; £Bl for low. The prices are c.i.f. London. War insurance is paid by the shipper.
