RIVERTON RACING CLUB.
A committee meeting of the Riverton Racing Club was held on Tuesday evening when the secretary presented an esti. mated balance-sheet of the race meeting which shoM-od a credit of £B2O. Tho president tabled a motion that a substantial sum bp given to the Belgian Relief Funds. Tho committee decided, in order to recognise the good work done by the three representatives of tho Invercargill branch of St. John's Ambulance Corps, mlio mo’o present on each day of tlie races, to make a donation of £3 3s to the funds. A notice of motion Mas given that tho dub install tho 10s tolo for next year. It Mas decided to have tho saddling paddock ploughed up, and levelled, and som n as soon as possible. Tho caretaker (Mr J. Livosay) tendered his resignation, owing to pressure of work on his farm through the loss of his ■on, M-ho had joined the Expeditionary Forces. The committee accepted the resignation with regret and passed a resolution of appreciation of his services. A sub-commit tee was set. up to go into the M'holw matter of th# caretaking and upkeep.
