BOWLING.

Bowling locally has received a slight ( check owing to the change in the wea- j ther. But the rain will benefit both greens. During last week the competitions on the Riverton green brought together a large muster, there being four full rinks and several sets of four going each evening. 1 At present in the A section for the , Ferns, Willett has two wins with Patrick j and King one loss and one win. In the B section each rink has a loss and a win. ■ The ladder competitions and singles will commence at once. i

On the Aparima green the new topdressed portion has progressed sufficient to be played on. The rink matches for Dr Trotter s handsome cup have commenced. Both local teams meet Orepuki in Riverton on Wednesday.
