Aparima.
'A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at Aparima on the 20th inst. '.when a cricket match was played between a team from Wairio and a local team, resulting in a win for the latter by 58 runs. The weather .was not all that could be desired as frequent showers throughout the afternoon made the wicket ' very-ktiry, which accounts to a great extent Ibv the small scores, although the bowling of Hall and Dixon for the losers, and James 'Bros, and Evans for the winners, .was particularly good. Blomfieldi Hall Bros, 'and Leggett were the most successful scorers for the other side, w<hile Evans, Hogan, Taylor and James were top scorers in the Aparima team. The batting of Evans in the last innings, who was not out for 15, was much admired. having been handed round, PKhich was kindly provided by the •'•ladies, all went home thoroughly • satisfied with their day's outing. ■Following are the scores : Waibio.
