THE WELLINGTON SHOOTING AFFRAY.
An inquest was held into the deatli of Charles Robeitson, lamp trimmer, who died on Tuesday night at Wellington, and in connection with whose death James Ban-, a wharf laborer, is under, m-rest. The medical evidence showed that death resulted from septic peritonitis caused by " rupture of the , intestines by a-bullet. Robertson, in his dying depositions, said that Barr had suspected him of intimacy -, with his wife and had fired two shots, one ' taking effect in his abdomen. Evidence was tendered by women who saw the two men struggling in the kitchen of Barr's house, and one of whom had attempted to take a revolver out of Ban's hand. A shopkeeper identified. Barr -sCs the-hjan who purchased the revolver and cartridges .(produced) on Saturday. The jury re-' turned a verdict that death' was caused by a wound from a bullet, wilfully tired by James Barr. , ,- . •
