CRICKET.
Oa Saturday the local team met the Otatau club on the Highlands, and what was expected to turn but a very even match, resulted in an easy win for the visitors. The day% being fine, a large attendance of spectators was the result. Shortly .after 1 o’clock, F Mills, who captained the local team, sent J Clark and j. Moore to open .proceedings to the bowling of Matheson and Eade. Clark made a brilliant stand and he had the misfortune to be run out with a score pf 21 to his credit. Cantrell played well for 13. The other players of the local team did not reach dpuble figiirbs. For Otautau Hamer (the captain) " topped the list, playing carefully; for < 32 runs when ho was bowled; by Cantrell. W Bade was next highest with 27. In'the trundling Cantrell for Riverton' was most successful, while D Matheson and W Eade were the most conspicions for Otautau, Following are the scores
