(Bt Telegraph). Wellington, Tuesday. The House met at 2,30. The North Island Trunk Loan Application Bill was reported, and read a second time. The Public AVorks Amendment Bill was recommitted. Clause 8, removal of gorse from roads, kc, on the motion of Mr Mitchelson the following proviso was inserted:— “Providing such local authorities have reasonable grounds for believing that such plants hare spread from such adjoining lands or fence thereof.’’ The bill was then reported, read a third time and passed. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Tho Council met at 2.30. Tho AVard-Christie Committee reported that .they wire of opinion that the correspondence of tho Eon. Mr Hislop, Colonial Secretary with Judge Ward merits the gravest disapproval. Tho Dog Registration Act Amendment Bill was read a first time. The Chattels Transfer Bill was read a second time. The Council roso at 5 till to-morrow.
