The New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase will be run at Christchurch to-morrow. . Seal le, the Australian sculler, was in training for his Thames match against O’Connor on Juno 23. He says of bis opponent: “I do not under-rate his ability in a boat—from all I can learn, he is a first-class sculler,— but I have made up my mind to beat him ; and I think I shall be able to do it, barring accidents. I feel very strong, and I think I shall row faster on the Thames than I hava ever done in Australia. At Sundown Park Summer meeting tho third renewal of Eclipse Stakes, of 10,000 sovs was won by the Duko of Portland’s Ayrshire.
