J. R, Mills and Co., Auctioneers, Riverton, report:—At Thornbury on the 14th inst. we held our usual monthly sale at Foster’s yards. The entries were not quite up to the average, only 10(30 sheep and 70 head cattle being forward. There was an unusually good demand for all classes of sheep, fat wethers particularly being eagerly competed for, ono pen making 12s 3d each. For cattle there was no improvement on recent prices, but the late advance in the price of fat sheep being firmly maintained we anticipate a corresponding rise in the value of good beef. Our sales were: Fat Sheep: 65 ewes at 8s; 30 2-tooth wethers, 10s 3d; and one pen prime wethers, 12s 3d.—Store Sheep; 63 2-tooth wethers at 10a 4d; 118 do, 10s 2d; 100 merino wethers, 4 and 6-tootb, 6s 3d; 104 aged ewes, 4s Id; 132 do, 4s sd; 64 do, 2s 9d; 89 do, 3s 2d ; and 48 lambs, 4s lid.— Fat Cattle at £4 15«, and several pens heifers at from £2 6s to £3 5s per head.—Horses : 1 grey draught gelding, £l3 15s; 1 bay do, £l2 10s; 1 hack, £4 10s; 1 yearling, £3.— Pigs : Weaners, 7s each.
