TO THE EDITOR. Siu,—ln your report of the meeting of the Western District Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the Secretary stated that he had written both to Mr Hannah and myself re the dispute about the Cup at last Show, and that he had got an answer from Mr Hannah but not from me. Well, I can only say that the Secretary’s letter never reached mo which is sufficient reason for his not having had reply. Not being present at the first of the meeting on the 15th I was not aware the matter came up or I should there and then have given a flat denial to the statements made. The matter having got into the public press I deem it only my duty to explain how I had not answered the Secretary’s letter, otherwise the public might think there had been some under-hand work on my part in regard to the matter in dispute.
