THE PUEEBBED CHAMPION CLYDESDALE STALLION EXTINGUISHER VXTILL Stand at his owner’s farm, Drum-: " * mond, near Gladfield, during the ensuing season, and travel the surrounding district. Extinguisher, five-year-old, is a beautiful bay, with splendid action, fine temper, and has got more bone and hair of the right sort than any other horse in New Zealand. Pedigree. Extinguisher was bred by Mr John Bussell out of his famous mare Maggie McCormick. Maggie McCormick is out of Miss McCormick, by Sir William Wallace. Miss McCormick, imported from Australia, was bred by that famous breeder, Mr Thos. McCormick, Doan, near Ballarat, whose breed of Clydesdales are well known in Victoria, and was specially selected for her breeding qualities. The correctness of that judgment has been fully verified. Maggie McCormick was second at Timaru as a yearling, and was beaten by a Young Vanquisher filly belonging to the Levels ; first at Oamaru the same year, and the judges specially commended her for the beat mare or filly in the yard. As a two-year.ojd she took first at Timaru and second in Oamaru, and as a three-year-old was second in Christchurch, and stood second for the Derby in Oamaru, 1879, being beaten by Annie Laurie. Extinguisher is by that famous stallion Young Vanquisher, imported from Scotland by the late David Nisbett. Grandsire, Vanquisher. Young Vanquisher dam, by Lochfergus Champion, by Champion, better known to breeders by the name of Blair’s Champion. Young Vanquisher has taken a great number of first prizes. As a two-year-old Extinguisher was first in his class, and champion at Dunedin. Was also first and Champion at Invercargill, beating Just the Time o’ Day,'; Souter Johnny, Argyle, Glasgow, Accountant, &c., &c. A good English grass paddock for mares.
