A BOUQUET.

- S _ •F’- SL; . —— I sent my love a golden wreath | Of daffodils all sweet and fair. Their yellow blooms not half so bright j As braidlsts of her sunny hair. 1 sent my love forget-xne.nots, i Blue as the depths of Summer skies, Blue as turquoise, yet not so bright | As living sapphires in her eyes. : -Vi Vv • ‘*' I; sent my love blush-roses pure ! As on the mountain-crest the snow, itot purer, fairer than her heart When flushed by love’s first roseate glow. I sent my love the scarlet blooms Of rice geraniums, rsre and red ; Her lips bat mocked their flowerets, And rendered rubies back instead. 5* ■ V Not all the flowers that bud and blow jTn England’s isle ’neath England’s skies Aw half so sweet or half so pure As is my love in my fond eyes 1 THE LILY OF : THE VALLEY. • (' ■ Her pale white bells in beauty show, Chaste, pure, and sweet as unsunned snow, And tender Reaves of purest green Enshroud the modest valley-queen. ; j:S’ 'vv'" * 0 lily fair, 0 lily sweet, The flower the Saviour deemed it meet To single out for praise Divine, Thou dost not—as do others—shint.
