Eat Cattle.—299 yarded, a number which, notwithstanding the short supply of last week, proved in excess of requirements, Mid in consequence there was a substantial ae- ?. cline in prices. Three-fourths of the beasts forward were from good to prime, and the balance inferior. Best bullocks brought ±>lo to £lll2s 6d, others £6 10s to £810s; cows, £4 10s to £lO 2s 6d. Fat Calves. —Seven forward, which sold at from 14s to 425. Fat Sheep—2oo4 penned, nearly half of which were shorn; 409 were merinos, and the balance crossbreds. At the commencement of the sales competition was not by any means animated, but towards the close the tone of the bidding improved, and last week’s rates were about maintained. Best crossbred wethers in the wool brought 19s to 21s 9d; others, 16s 9d to 18s 3d; shorn do, lls 3d to 17s 3d; merinos in the wool, 9s to 15s 9d. Fat ‘ Lambs. The market completely glutted, 876 being penned, and the result a sweeping reduction in prices for inferior and medium qualities, while prime well-grown lambs sold fairly, the range in prices being 3s 6d to 13s 6d.

■! Store Sheep.—There are inquiries for both young crossbreds and young merinos, but no transactions to report. Sheepskins—The attendance at sales on Monday was good, and competition moderately brisk. Butchers’ greeuskins, crossbreds, brought from 3s 7d to 5s 9d; do dry merinos, 3s 4d to 5s sd; dry crossbreds. Is 7d to 5s 4d; station skins in bales, 3d to 5Jd per lb; pelts, GdtolSd; lambskins, 8d to 14d. Babbitskins—Suckers brought Id to 6d; summer skins and medium, 12d to 14id; good to prime, 16d to 20idHides —No alteration to note. ■ Tallow—A fair demand, and as sellers are willing to make concession, more business is done.' Good to prime is worth 26s 6d to 28s 6d; medium, 23s to 255; inferior and mixed, 18s to 225 ; rough fat, 15s 6d to 19s < per cwt. Wheat—There is really no demand, except for choice samples of Tuscan and velvet, and which at present are scarce. Prime milling is worth 3s 5d to 3s 7d; ordinary, 3s 2d to 3s 4d; medium, 2s 9d to 3s; fowl feed and frosted,. Is 6d to 2s 3d per bushel. Oats—Demand scarcely so brisk, but all lots coming to hand can be placed at—for prime milling, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; sound feed, 2s 7£d to 2s 8d; ordinary, 2s 7d to 2s 7jd; inferior, 2s 4d to 2s 6d per bushel. Barley—No transactions worthy of note. Grass Seed—No demand of any consequence. Quotations nominal at—for machine-dressed, 4s 6d to 4s 9d; medium, 4s to 4s 6d; undressed, 2s 6d to 3s 3d per bushel.

Horse Market—Wright, Stephenson and Co. held their weekly sale last Saturday. The entries were not numerous. Fair amount of business done in young light-harness horses and good young draughts, for both of which there is a brisk demand. We quote firstclass draughts at from £3O to 35; medium, £2O to £25 ; light, £ls to £18; good hacks and light-harness horses, £2O to £25; mepium, £lO to £ls ; light and inferior, £3 to £7. ♦—— Melbourne, Nov. 18. The manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports of the local markets as follows:—Wheat, per bushel, 3s lOd; market irregular. Malting barley is slow of sale at 4s to 4s 6d. New Zealand oats—feeding sorts are in fair demand at 3s lid to 4s, and milling do at 4s Id to 4s 2d; the market is quieter, but steady. Now Zealand oats under bond, 3s Id to 3s Id, with moderate inquiry.
