The f ommitiee met at Mr Poster’s, Thornburj, on Wednesday. There was a good at tendance of members. The chief business was to settle the affairs of late ploughing match. The secretary read letter from Mr Drysdale, who had been requested to act as judge of ploughing match, stating that the ploughing match was over before he received the letter, as it had been wrongly addressed, and that had he got ihe letter - in time, he would have had much pleasure in acting as a judge on the occasion. Regarding the ploughing match financially, the secretary stated that the receipts would probably exceed the expenditure by about £lo—a matter which was regarded as highly satisfactory. The prizes given by the Association amount to £4B 11s. As thus** who had taken first prizes had elected to take a cup value £4 and cash £3, it would he necessary to get. three cups more, Mr Lumsdcn having kindly presented one cup to the Association. The president was instructed to purchase two cups, and get the inscription put on medal and cups. It was resolved that the accounts in connection with the match and the prizes he paid.

On the motion of the treasurer, it was resolved that a cordial vote of thanks be given to Mr Lumsden for bis kindn'ss in presenting a handsome cup to the Association. On the motion of Mr Hamilton, a cordial vote of thanks was given to the president, Mr Instone, for his strenuous and successful efforts in carrying out the match in such a satisfactory manner.

It was resolved that the fannual meeting of the Association be held on Friday, 29th August. The treasurer requested that all subscriptions should be paid him as soon as possible, so as to have them included in the annual balance sheet. After a vote of thanks to the chair the meeting adjourned.
