The Employment of Females, Banks andTJankers, and Gaming and Lotteries Bills were partly considered in committee. ' SPECIAL PARLIAMENT ART. (from a correspondent.) Wellington, Friday. Ere this you will know the result of the division on the No-confidence motion. Before the debate was finished it became very wearisome, members travelling over the same ground. The tip I gave you was very near the mark. Mr Ormond has left for Napier to-day to brood over his defeat. The Redistribution of Seats Bill is now the chief topic. If it is carried there will be material alterations, but no one as yet has seen the alterations. Mr Hirst was told to-day by the Minister of Public Works that instructions had been sent down to have the survey of the Orepuki line completed at once, and also to have cattle yards erected at Thornhury. Mr Lumsde 1 was called to order by the Speaker for attempting to pull Mr Swanson over into the lobby. (Special Correspondent “ O. D. Times.”) '-Directly after the division, Mr Lundon rose and supported the second reading of the bill. There is still a rumor that the Opposition will move that the bill he committed in six months ; but it is generally understood that after the expressions of opinion on the part of their supporters, the Government will not proceed with the Local Government Bills, hut relegate the question to the electorates.
