Monday, 17th May. (Before J. N. Wood, Esq., R.M.) ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. Lennon v. M. Fitzgerald.—Mr J. Taylor appeared for plaintiff (by permission of bis Worship, there being no counsel present), and applied for an adjournment, on the ground that one of the principal witnesses was absent in Riverton. The Magistrate said he would hear the evidence first, and decide ns to whether it was necessary before giving judgment to adjourn the case for further evidence. He was averse to adjourning the case and causing the expense of bringing a witness from Riverton if it ,-ould be avoided. After hearing the evidence, his Worship dismissed the case, plaintiff to pay costs.
