A contemporary gives publicity to an anecdote about the late lamented Mr Justice Fellows that is so characteristic at once of his liberality and sense of humour as to merit a wider circulation. It is known that ho almost, if not quite, provided the means for building the pretty Anglican Church at Queeuscliff, and he never ceased to show deep inlerest in the structure. "Before leaving the colony on a trip to Europe, he is said to have placed in the .hands of the churchwardens a largo pill-box containing fifty-two sovereigns, oy the lid of which was inscribed—-“ Two to be taken every Sunday during the hours of morning service.” We arc not told whether the churchwardens forgot to observe the the directions of the donor, bnt we ma v safely assume that the proscription was faithfully taken by these officials. No doubt many church stewards would be glad to have the same medicine administered once a week.—“ Spectator ”
