A Chinaman named Ah Coo commited suicide at the Dome Creek on the 10th instant. It appears that lie in company with three mates (his countrymen) were working a claim which turned out bad. Tiie three cleared out leaving Ah Coo to pay a debt of £4l, which had been incurred by the company. Not being in a position to pay the amount, he took it to heart, and com;, itted suicide. An inquiry was held on the 12th instant, and a verdict was given as follows —“That deceased committed self-destruction while suffering from temporary insanity.”—Tuapeka Times. A committee has been formed in Sydney to take action in reference to the proposed Italian immigration. The reward for information leading to the conviction of the Seymour bank robber, bus been increased to £2OO. Dalby, convicted of rape at Balmain, has been sentenced to death. The Bench at Brisbane dismissed the charge against the master of the ship Penrith for not taking due steps to save the life of a seaman who fell overboard during a voyage from Glasgow.
